SHANTI INSTITUTE OF AYURVEDA
Shanti Ayurveda Center was established in 2013 and registered as a corporation under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to provide Ayurveda panchakarma treatments for healing and well-being. Because of the demand for learning preventive healthcare, particularly on the Ayurveda lifestyle knowledge, Shanti Institute of Ayurveda (SIA) was founded in 2016, and registered with the SEC as an educational, non-profit organization.
The vision of SIA is to become a world-class Ayurveda education, training, and research institute for building healthier and happier society where people live together in peace and harmony. The mission is to bring Ayurveda, India’s millennia-old system of healthcare to every household in the world. The Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC) has approved three Ayurveda Lifestyle Certification Courses: Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Certification Course, Ayurveda Lifestyle Teacher Certification Course, and Ayurveda Therapist Certification Course that were designed by SIA.
Ayurveda Lifestyle Certification Courses
1) Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Certification Course
The completion of the ‘Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Certification Course’ will lead graduates to have the following learning competencies:
- Practice Ayurveda lifestyle principles from Vagbhata Sutra
- Explain the Ayurveda lifestyle to the family members
- Set up an Ayurveda kitchen at home
- Learn cooking life skills to prepare home-cooked meals by using Ayurveda methods, herbs, and spices
- Set up a backyard kitchen garden
- Learn Ayurveda home remedies

Course Description:
Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Training is a 200-hour certification course. This training course provides you with a deeper foundation based on the principle that it is possible to thrive physically, emotionally, and economically while living your heart’s passion.
Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Training Course covers the historical and philosophical origin of Ayurveda, Panchamahabhuta (the five basic elements of life) theories, Doshas (humor) assessment, Dinacharya (daily regimens), and Ritucharya (seasonal regimens) from Vagbhata Sutras. The students will learn about Ayurveda lifestyle principles, balanced diet, Jathar Agni (digestion and metabolism), seven dhatus (tissues), the three pillars of health, home remedies, yoga, pranayama, and meditation. There will also be an Ayurveda cooking demonstration for the preparation of home-cooked meal using spices and herbs from the kitchen and the backyard herbal garden.
Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Training is a simple and practical approach for nurturing health, maintaining balance, and increasing longevity in life. Shanti Ayurveda believes that you can transform the vicious cycle of ill-being into a virtuous cycle of well-being by eating healthy food from the kitchen and not the medicine from the pharmacy; by resorting to natural, not chemical medicines, home care not hospital care by practicing the Ayurveda lifestyle. Conduction approach and methods.
The state-of-the-art methodological approach of ‘Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Training’ is founded on the concept of hands-on, experiential learning, bridging theory and practice. Participants will be encouraged to reflect upon their own experiences with the inputs provided by the facilitating resource persons. Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Training will follow both a sequential flow of contents and iterative reflections. The synthesis of learning by the participants – both individually and in teams – is employed to help participants on a determination of meaning based on their context. The courses will use a variety of participatory methods including presentation, individual and group exercises, demonstration, guided field practicum, practical exercise, task-specific workgroups, informal setting reflections, case study and role-plays, video shows, storytelling, and other effective methods to ensure active participation and sharing.
Ayurveda Lifestyle Practitioner Training Course is open to the following individuals:
Ayurveda lifestyle practitioner training is suitable for anyone interested in Ayurveda or becoming an ‘Ayurveda lifestyle practitioner’. It also offers a genuine opportunity to yoga teachers, holistic health practitioners, health professionals, mental health counselors, life coaches, physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and bodywork therapists who wish to learn, practice, and intend to apply these theories to professional health care teaching locally and internationally. A certificate will be provided to the participant after the successful completion of the course.
2) Ayurveda Lifestyle Teacher Certification Course
The completion of the ‘Ayurveda Lifestyle Teacher Certification Course’ will lead graduates to have the following learning competencies:
- Identify lifestyle diseases that common people are exposed to and the adverse effects on health, livelihood, family system, and social life
- Preparation of Ayurveda home remedies for common health issues, seasonal flu, cough & cold
- Explain the changes in lifestyle and relationship with the emerging health issues including fast food, drug addiction, alcoholism, smoking, and excessive use of IT
- Know how to set up an Ayurveda kitchen pharmacy and backyard kitchen garden
- Conduct dosha workshop class & prepare ‘Ayurveda balanced diet chart
- Conduct Yoga Asana, Pranayama & Meditation classes
- Able to organize community at village (barangays) level
- Conduct ‘Ayurveda Lifestyle Class‘

Ayurveda Lifestyle Teacher Training is a 300-hour Certification Course. This training program combines well with Ayurveda and Yoga which provides you a deeper foundation based on the principle that it is possible to enjoy yourself physically, emotionally, and economically while sharing your heart’s deepest passion. The Ayurveda Lifestyle Teacher Training is designed for the full expression of life to realize your dream and follow the path to where you want to be. With this training, you will create a harmonious relationship with your inner self and your family while serving society – in effect, you will contribute to the overall transformation of well-rounded human beings.
Ayurveda Lifestyle Teacher Training course introduces Ayurveda, its philosophy, history, and its branches, with a focus on all the basics of Ayurveda principles from Vagbhata Sutras- Dinacharya (daily regimens), Ritucharya (seasonal regimens), Dosha assessment, food and nutrition, Ayurveda home remedies, Ayurveda cooking, Ayurveda massage, Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation as well as the business principles needed to be an effective Ayurveda lifestyle teacher. Classes will be conducted on the management of a few common non-communicable diseases, which include Ayurveda home remedies, Yoga therapy, food, and nutrition.
This is an intensive course that includes both Ayurveda and Yoga theory and practical sessions. The training program will introduce the vast body of science of life that is Ayurveda and explain the basic theoretical principles, starting with the philosophical foundation, and leading up to traditional Ayurveda health science theories. It is a gateway into the world of Yoga for healing, beyond asana and the studio. Hands-on knowledge of essential medicinal plants and use of home spices and herbs as healing food classes will be conducted. There will also be a demonstration of using kitchen spices at home and local herbs for proper and healthy food preparation.
3) Ayurveda Therapist Certification Course
The completion of the ‘Ayurveda Therapist Certification Course’ will lead graduates to acquire the following learning competencies:
- Understand Ayurveda massage and Panchakarma treatment theory and be able to perform this in professional life
- Confidently be able to perform Ayurveda Panchakarma treatment in any Ayurveda Center/Clinic/Hospital as a public or private Ayurveda health professional
- Practice Ayurveda lifestyle in day-to-day life – dinacharya & ritucharya (daily regimens & seasonal regimens)
- Handle Ayurveda herbs, Ayurveda medicines, therapeutic oils, and herbal powders
- Manage Ayurveda clinics or centers

Course Description:
Ayurveda Therapist Training is a 300-hour course that introduces Ayurveda, its history, and the branches, with a focus on Panchakarma treatments which include Ayurveda massage therapies, biology, pathology and pharmaceuticals in Ayurveda, different uses of medicinal herbs, preparation of oils and Ayurveda medicines, identification of different constitution of the body and corresponding treatments.
The Ayurveda Therapist Training aims to provide professional training for those who are aspiring to become Panchakarma Therapists. Panchakarma training will cover all aspects of Ayurveda massage therapies and treatments. This course involves both theoretical studies and extensive practice to understand the traditional Ayurveda therapies practiced in India. The course targets primarily nurses, physical therapists, caregivers, life coaches, bodywork therapists, and holistic health practitioners who wish to learn this ancient Ayurveda Panchakarma treatment and intend to apply these theories to their professional practice.
